There are many ways to serve the Ebensburg community and the Dauntless Fire Company. All help is greatly appreciated and always needed.

Active Members - After serving one year of probation and obtaining the required training, the duties of these personnel include: Interior Firefighting, Vehicle Rescue, Hazardous Material Responses, Wildland Firefighting, and handle many other types of emergency responses.

Junior Firefighter (14-15) - These members can begin training at an early age and have a head start on becoming a front line firefighter. These members are encouraged to assist the fire company training sessions, participate in events such as demolition derbies, bon fires, fire prevention activities, fundraising, and summer firefighting competitions. These members are not permitted to respond to fire scene until they are 16 years of age.

Junior Firefighters (16-17) - These members are permitted to respond on the apparatus to the scene. They are permitted to take more advanced classes, but are not permitted to run any power equipment, or enter any burning buildings. These members are given more responsibility under careful supervision of the senior members. The Pennsylvania State Child Labor Laws regulate the entire junior program.

Second Alarm Members This is a highly talented group of members that do not wish to handle emergency responses, but still have a great interest in helping the community. These members come from various backgrounds, and provide many important qualities needed for the day to day operations of the fire department.
