Earl Joseph "Duke" Hockenberry has been proudly serving the Ebensburg community since joining in 1987. Joe is a first generation firefighter.

Joe has served on the following committees: Grievance, House, Decoration and Fundraising

Joe is a Certified Firefighter I, Basic Vehicle Rescue Technician, and EMT-B. Joe currently runs EMS with Ebensburg Area EMS and was a former member at the Blacklick Valley Foundation and Ambulance Service.

Through the years Joe has received extensive training in fire suppression, fire rescue, vehicle rescue, hazmat, landing zones, emergency vehicle operations, Pumps I & II, arson investigation, fire cause and determination, first aid and CPR.

In his spare time, aside from running with EMS, Joe can be found spending time with his family and friends, coaching T-Ball and Softball, hunting and fishing, or participating as a PIAA official for baseball and football and as an American Legion Umpire. Joe is also a former treasurer for the Ebensburg Youth League.

Joe is supported in his efforts at home by his wife Joyce and future firefighters Kimberley and Kaitlyn.
