Andy Kaza has been proudly serving the Ebennsburg community since 1960.  He is a life member and father of second generation firefighter Ryan.

Andy has held the following offices:  Chief of Ladder, Chief Engineer, 2nd Assist Chief, 1st Assist Chief, Fire Chief 1980-1986, and

Trustee 1987-2006.

            

Through the years, Andy has completed various training including:

Basic Firefighting, Structural Firefighting, Vehicle Rescue, Pumps 1,

Pumps 2, Flammable Liquids, Snorkel Operations, Truck Company Operations,Wildland Firefighting, S.C.B.A, Officer Training, First Aid, CPR Training, NIMS 100 & 700, and many other classes.

 

Andy has served on several truck committees including: chairman of the building committee 1987, Chairman of the Annual Turkey raffle for 26 years, plus numerous other committees.

 

Andy was the first member of the Dauntless Fire Company to become a State Training Instructor from 1973 to 1985.

 

He served as President of  the Cambria County Firemen’s Association in 1976 and the Central District Firemen’s Association in 1986.

He was the receipient of a Valor Award in 1995 from both the Cambria County Firemen’s Association and the Central District Firemen’s Association for successfully savingthe life of another by administering CPR.

 

He is a Member of the Cambria County Firemen’s Association, Central District Firemen’s Association, Western District Firemen’s Association, and Pennsylvania State Firemen’s Association.

 

Andy is a lifelong resident of Ebensburg along with his wife Karen and son Ryan.  During his spare time, he enjoys spending the summer at Lake Raystown, fishing in the spring and hunting in the fall.
